Need for Images of Philippine Fishes
Written by Jenneth P. Jusay

I hope this blog would catch the attention of the people who might be able to help me in acquiring images of Philippines fishes. I am Jenneth Jusay, a Senior student at the University of the Philippines Los Baños, taking up BS Computer Science. As a graduating student, I need to propose a Special Problem topic and I am planning to work on the field of Image Processing. Although there are already existing researches on fish classification based on color and geometry, I still want to work in this topic and explore other techniques in image processing that will help in classifying Philippines fishes. Honestly... I haven't really figured out the techniques to be used in my research because it will depend on the input images. I also need to study how fishes are being classified, I only know how to eat them :D More than 100 images is sufficient enough in order for me to conduct this study. I know that the members of this website are professionals or experts in Marine Biology but I do hope that you guys would spend some time helping a student like me :) Thank you in advance! :D
